An industrial controls background, applied to security.

Secure Systems Integrators is my own business. I’ve worked in electronic security since 2015 and industrial automation since 2018 — designing, programming and commissioning control systems for plant that could not afford to stop, and installing security across facilities where the consequences of getting it wrong were somebody else’s safety.

That background shapes how I work. A camera system is a network with cameras on it. An access control system is a set of interlocks that has to fail safely. Most of the problems I get called to fix are not product problems — they are design problems. Cameras pointed at the sun, recorders on a domestic router, cable runs that were never going to survive a Queensland summer, and no documentation for the next person.

So the work is done the way I would commission a plant: designed before it is installed, labelled, tested, and handed over with something written down. That is slower to sell than a four-camera package deal, and it is the entire point.

I hold a Queensland Security Providers licence (4703669). Electrical work is carried out by licensed electricians. On the automation side I have worked in hazardous-area environments to IECEx and ATEX requirements.
